About engineering management

The KU Edwards Campus Master of Science program in engineering management (EMGT) is designed specifically for engineers, scientists, or professionals with a computer science or math background who want to add management skills and knowledge to their technical undergraduate base. The program is not as technical as a master’s degree in engineering or as general as an M.B.A. — it’s the intersection of technology and management.

The engineering management program prepares technical managers from fields of engineering, science, math, and computer science to manage more effectively in technologically based organizations and to promote entrepreneurial activities in new business enterprises. The EMGT program integrates management with technology by focusing on 3 dimensions: technical, human, and conceptual.

96 percent of alumni who responded to a survey said, “If I had to do it again, I would attend the EMGT program at the University of Kansas.”
