Yan Bing Zhang - Assistant Professor, Ph.D., University of Kansas

Dr. Zhang’s research focuses on intercultural/intergenerational/mass communication particularly in regards to cultural values, age stereotypes, conflict management, and media effects. Frequently, she examines these issues from a cross-cultural perspective. Her work has been published in U. S. and international communication journals such as Journal of Communication, Communication Monographs, Communication Research Report, Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, Journal of Asian Pacific Communication, Journal of Cross-Cultural Gerontology, New Media & Society, Hallym International Journal of Aging, and Journal of Language and Social Psychology. Dr. Zhang’s teaching interests include intercultural communication, life span communication, mass communication, East Asian communication, and quantitative research methods. She also provides a link between the department and the University’s East Asian Studies program.
