IMPORTANT DEADLINES FOR PROSPECTIVE FALL 2008 GRADS

Greetings, CLA&S seniors. You are receiving this e-mail because if you are a graduating senior, the priority deadline for applying to graduate is fast approaching. If you have already applied to graduate online for Fall 2008 and you have submitted your graduation application forms specified below to CLA&S Student Academic Services, 109 Strong Hall, no further action is needed to apply for Fall 2008 graduation.

• October 10, 2008, is the deadline to apply online on Enroll and Pay for Fall 2008 graduation if you plan to attend the December Graduation Ceremony. You must also submit an accompanying signed Major Certification Sheet (MCS) to 109 Strong Hall at that time. The final deadline to file your application for graduation is December 1, 2008. Note: The following departments do not require an MCS: ECON (BA or BGS) and PSYC (BA or BGS).
  
• If you are completing a minor, you must also have a Minor Certification Sheet completed and signed by your minor advisor. The Minor Certification Sheet also needs to be submitted to 109 Strong Hall.
  
• You will need to meet with your major advisor to have the Major Certification Sheet (MCS) and your minor advisor (if applicable) to have the Minor Certification Sheet completed and signed. Please bring the completed Certification Sheet(s) to CLA&S Student Academic Services in 109 Strong Hall. Please allow enough time when planning to complete your paperwork so that you are able to accomplish the above steps and return the completed forms to 109 Strong no later than October 10, 2008 for inclusion in the December Graduation Ceremony program or by December 1, 2008 to meet the final deadline.
  
• If you are pursuing departmental honors as a Fall 2008 candidate for graduation, please complete an Honors Intent Form (HIF) and have this form signed by your honors advisor. Submit your HIF to College Student Academic Services, 109 Strong Hall, by December 1, 2008.
  
• December 6, 2008 is the deadline to complete the final examinations for KU Continuing Education courses.
  
• December 19, 2008 is the deadline for finishing courses graded “Incomplete.” Your instructor must have your grade to the Office of the University Registrar by that date.
  
• January 15, 2009 is the deadline for submitting transfer credit (on an official transcript). An official transcript must be on file in the KU Office of Admissions (1502 Iowa, Lawrence, KS 66045) by that date.
  
• Make a Diploma Delivery Request on Enroll & Pay after you Apply for Graduation. You may request to pick up your diploma at the Student Records Center, 151 Strong Hall (bring a picture ID) or you may request to have your diploma mailed to you. • PLEASE NOTE: Your ceremony will be December 14, 2008 at the Lied Center. You may also “walk down the hill” on May 17, 2009. Your name will appear in the Spring 2009 commencement program unless you have requested your information not be released. If you will not be finished with all of your requirements, you should NOT apply to graduate online for the Fall 2008 semester. You should apply to graduate only for the semester in which you plan to complete all your requirements.
